Clyde Mitchell is conducting his first season as Music Director-Conductor of the Culver City Symphony Orchestra, bringing exciting new programs and tremendous energy, enthusiasm, and experience to our orchestra.
Following a B.Mus. at Louisiana State University and an M.A. at CSU-Northridge, Mitchell had a highly successful international career as a French Horn player with orchestras in Bogota, Colombia and Tucson, Arizona. In Montreal, Canada, he was Associate Principal Horn in the prestigious L’Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, and a music professor at McGill University. Mitchell then retrained as an orchestral conductor with studies at CSU-Long Beach (Master of Music) and USC (Artist Diploma). After leading orchestras in the United States, Canada, Asia, Europe and South America, he founded the Lions Gate Sinfonia and the Lions Gate Youth Orchestra in North Vancouver, Canada, where he continues as Music Director. Brooke deRosa is an award-winning composer, conductor, vocalist, and filmmaker, living in Los Angeles, California.
As an internationally accomplished opera performer, she has been featured on Jimmy Fallon, the Jimmy Kimmel stage, the score for Netflix/Marvel’s “Luke Cage”, and “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events”, also for Netflix. She has performed in Los Angeles with LA Opera, Pacific Opera Project, The Pacific Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, Redlands Symphony and Long Beach Opera. Brooke was Musetta in our 2019 production of La bohème, and was featured in our Tribute to Frank Fetta, who was her mentor and vocal coach, in July 2022 The Culver City Symphony Orchestra's concerts are presented at:
