SoCal Symphony Society 2020-21 Season CULVER CITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA The Parent Orchestra of Marina del Rey Symphony Dear Many Friends and Symphony Society Members of the Orchestra, The Directors of the Board of our Orchestra have missed each of you very much during this unprecedented time of the Pandemic. We miss the excitement, the conversations, the socializing together, and of course the magnificent music which our Orchestra has offered over the years. But we must now adjust to the “New Normal” for the 2020-2021 Season with Conductor- Music Director Frank Fetta and Principal Guest Conductor Andrew Shulman. Firstly, you should know that your memberships will be carried over to the 2020-2021 Season without further charge from the prior season. This means you will receive all of last year’s benefits: •Membership entitles you to two free tickets for all concerts with a reduced price for additional tickets - a great benefit for your continuing support! •Reserved concert seating for all Society Members and their Guests Reduced cost Program Book Advertisements (contact: info@culvercitysymphony.org) •At the $150 (Distinguished Patron) level, a free raffle book of 11 chances. This dramatic change in circumstances has also led to changes in our annual request for you to become a member or continue your membership in the SoCal Symphony Society, the parent of our Orchestras (Culver City and Marina del Rey). With this in mind, including the continuation of all 2020-2021 memberships at no charge as noted above, should you wish to contribute further in support of this wonderful Orchestra and to give confidence in our future, we ask that you consider a further donation of $50, join us as a Society Member for the first time, or even renew to a higher level membership as some have already done for the 2020-2021 Season. For our 2020-2021 Season, because of the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we are not certain when live concerts can be presented. As an exciting substitute, Frank Fetta is selecting friends and associates of the Orchestras for virtual concerts which we will present to you during this Season. And should positive changes come to the current “safer at home” orders and thus allow us to present live concerts, we are already looking into outdoor venues for moving forward utilizing all required safe practices. The strings, winds, brass and percussion sections
cannot be directed by Conductor Frank Fetta without your financial support. Through our valued SoCal Symphony Society Members the orchestra presents prominent musical events and opportunities for young gifted performers through our Parness Concerto Competition. But none of this happens without your commitment to our vision. Be part of the music making, become a supporting member. The SoCal Symphony Society is the 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. It is a name we feel best suits our concerts in Culver City and Marina del Rey. Your membership ensures that the Culver City Symphony Orchestra continues to present concerts of the finest classical music for our audience from Culver City and throughout greater Los Angeles. We thank our cherished long-time members, and our new members whom we welcome. Concert production costs continue to rise, and we need your support to meet these financial challenges. We know you will support this orchestra to bring these fine concerts to you. |
