CULVER CITY

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

2022-23 Season

Dear Symphony Society Members and
Friends of the Orchestra,

The Directors of the Board and the
musicians of our Orchestra are delighted to
welcome you back to our 2022-23 season.

The Orchestra is making musical news with
our first full season since the pandemic and
a major talent search for a new conductor.

Recovering from the loss of Frank Fetta, our
iconic music director and conductor of over
40 years, the symphony leaders have
chosen three acclaimed maestros to vie for
his position. Frank Fetta was only the
second music director to lead the orchestra
in the six decades since it was founded, a
remarkable achievement.

The Orchestra was founded in 1963 and, for the first 45 years, our regular season concerts were free thank to the generous support of our Symphony Society members. The Great Recession of 2008 brought both lower revenue and higher costs. In response, we reduced our season to three concerts and, for the first time, we began charging admission.

We have been very fortunate to enjoy the continued support of our wonderful Symphony Society members, and of Culver City and Los Angeles County. As we begin our 2022-23 season, we are delighted that the Board of Directors has been able to approve a return to a four-concert season, with free admission to all regular  season concerts.

Your support, as Symphony Society members, is a crucial part of our financial resiliency and our ability to continue to provide live symphonic music to Culver City and the surrounding communities.

Please consider renewing your membership or making a donation.
